Unisex Quartz Watch With Analogue Display by Timex

Back in the day the advert chant would be: ’It takes a licking and keeps on ticking!’ This Timex is a versatile unisex quartz watch with analogue display.

Described as the Timex unisex special weekender slip through quartz watch it has a clear off-white dial with arabic numerals picked out in black for 12 hours and inner set of markings for 24 hours. The main hands are also in black and a sweeping second hand is red.The body of the watch is a sturdy slim (9mm) stainless steel case which is 38mmDescribed in diameter.. A special feature is the indiglo night light to illuminate the dial. The strap is made of a blue/grey striped nylon fabric which unusually weaves through the slits on either side of the watch and across the back of the watch. It is completed with a buckle and can be easily replaced.

It is described as the weekender and it certainly is appropriate for wearing during leisure time and will serve well as a robust water resistant watch ( to 3 bars) while outdoors say, walking or hiking. The stylish design though will not be out of place on most occasions including formal ones.

For me I like the formality of the design which echos accents of the military or pilots watches of WW11 and the 50s. The straps being made of fabric can fray a little after time ,particularly around the punch holes where the prong is used to tighten the strap, but they are easily interchangeable. All in all, people who buy this watch tend to like it very much.Buyers though have remarked about the ticking which maybe a tad loud for some in a quiet room but for many that maybe just part of the charm reminiscent of ‘old school’ clockwork technology.Just like the old slogan says:' It keeps on ticking.'
