A Vintage Homemaker Serving Plate By Ridgeway Potteries is for sale.

It is oval in shape and is a monochrome classic measuring 30cm by 22cm which the seller describes as showing minimal signs of general wear through age and some minor cutlery scratches which can be seen when holding the object to the light. Originally sold through Woolworth in the 1950's and 60's featuring everyday items found in the home. It's black and white pattern provides a ceramic catalogue of several of the best known modern furnishings of the time including the iconic:
* boomerang-shaped able
* Gordon Russell-style sideboard
* Robin Day influenced armchair
* two-seater Bernadotte sofa
* leggy plant stands; and
* tripod lights

This is a rare and very collectible piece and provides an opportunity of purchasing a beautiful design work depicting a collection of some of the best mid century modern homeware products. It may well add a valuable item for a collector of the Homemaker pieces.

The plate has the manufacture's name on the reverse.I stress it is very collectable and it is like having a curated exhibit of some of the finest everyday homeware designs of the 1950s.
