Mango Wood Dining Table With Hammered Iron Frame By Rakara

The other day I came across the simple but sophisticated lines of this mango wood dining table with hammered iron frame by Rakara.

This style of furniture is minimalist and modern looking and it was was often favoured in the 1950s for its clean design.Of a rich chestnut the top is rectangular and straight edged and is supported on a coated metal frame and four elegant slightly tapered and very slim pin legs. Each product is unique because of the natural material. No two will be the same because of natural variations of colour and grain. The dimensions are generous and would enable up to 6 to 8 people to be seated around it: height 76 cm, width 160-210 cm,Depth 90 cm, and weighs 56 kg. Leg room height is a comfortable 74 cm.

It would suit a family or people who like to entertain guests. Being extendable the table can be reduced in size so as to make more room when it is not needed for its full capacity.

Maintenance is low the table top only requiring cleaning with a dry cloth. In the 50s many different materials were used and sometimes decorative artwork introduced. However,I particularly like the natural wood look and the mid century style of the pin legs which are easily attached to metal frame supporting the top.
